It all began when police initiated a traffic stop on a speeding Nissan Altima near the intersection of Garrisonville Road and Eustace Road around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

"As the deputy approached on foot, the driver struck the deputy with her car, hit his motorcycle, and struck another vehicle on the roadway," police said.

The driver fled eastbound on Garrisonville Road and stopped near the 610 Car Wash, where she and an underage passenger escaped on foot into the woods, police said.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.

After an extensive search involving a drone and K-9 dogs, the passenger was captured by authorities.

Police believe the driver has left the country. They say they are aware of her identity but it was not shared publicly.

The investigation remains ongoing.
